Baby Suffering From Trapped Wind. Taking Aptamil Stage 1 Milk. Had Explosive Diarrhea. How To Cure?
Hi. My baby is 8weeks old. He suffers from trapped wind. He takes 4x8oz bottles plus a 5oz top up feed at night. He will scream the house down for a few hours before comforting himself. Do i try a comfort milk? Currently on aptamil stage 1 milk. I also thought about putting him on hungry baby milk but i think i should sort out his trapped wind first. Tonight he had trapped wind and then after a couple of hours he had explosivr diarhea....
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
Please burp the child effectively after every feed.
Give him a digestive carminative drop thrice daily for 7 days.
Give him an antispasmodic drop if he has pain.
Avoid mixed milk diet.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your child seems to have colic and flatulence which is common around this age group.
No need to change formula feeds for the sake of colic and wind.
Burp the child after each feed and you can give antiflatulent drops to the infant after consulting your doctor.
For colic you can give simethicone drops in prescribed dose.
If colic is there, hold the baby tummy against the shoulder or just do massage on tummy.
Still problems persist, consult the Pediatrician for the proper advise.
Hope I have answered your query.
