As Long As You Promise Not To Give Me Grief

As long as you promise not to give me grief (sorry could not resist, hopefully you have a sense of humour) I had my annual physical, blood drawn, tetanus shot given but not in that order. My doctor called me concerned about my eosinophils and neutrophils - whit cell indicators. Is it not reasonable to think that the results are inline with the fact that they gave the the tetanus shot first then drew my blood, my body I believe was in serious defense mode after the invasion by this foreign body? By the time I called her back after giving it much thought she was gone for the day

hi. Well this is the story of today's medicine. patient forgets important info, doctor does not get required info and when the info is available doctor is unavailable to comment...
One point i would like to add here is that your tetanus shots generally do not increase your blood cells (WBC). What we use nowadays is a tetanus toxoid which is supposed to stimulate only the very small subset of immune cells concerned with reaction against tetanus. These cells do not generally multiply so much to give you a higher WBC count. Review your results and rack your memory for any other reason. good luck to you and to your doctor!
