Hi,
If you have taken emergency medication within the stipulated time, you are safe from conception. The high hormonal levels in the medication interfere with the normal hormonal balance and thus create menstrual disturbances. You can expect your next normal period to get delayed by a week or two and if you do not see a period even after that time, please consult a specialist for further management. Please remember, use of emergency contraception should be limited to once or twice a year for the real emergencies; use a regular form of contraception instead. Hope this helps.
