Are The Scan Result Reports Cause For Concern?

There is reversal of the cervical Lordosis with severe spondylotic changes

Seen with complete loss of disc space from C3 – C7 with marginal anterior and [posterior osteophytes.

There appears to be an anterior forward movement C1-C2.

This could be projectional but subuxation should be excluded.

Anterior atlantoaxial space appears preserved.

can you tell me if this is serous

Hello
Thanks for writing to us

According to report, you have degenerative disc disease of cervical spine.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis.

1.There is reversal of the cervical Lordosis means it has become opposite of normal curvature with severe spondylotic changes .

2.There is complete loss of disc space from C3 – C7 level with marginal anterior and posterior osteophytes. Osteophytes are formed due to chronic stress over annulus fibrosis.

3.There appears to be an anterior forward movement C1-C2 means there is suspected anterolisthesis. It may be due to projectional x-rays or subluxation.

4.Anterior atlantoaxial space appears preserved.

Majority of the cases of degenerative spine disease are benefited by physiotherapy. So,physiotherpay should be tried first. It causes strengthening of Para spinal muscles and it prevents further changes.
Surgery should be the last option.
There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief.
Treatment can be planned after consultation with neurosurgeon.

Get well soon.
