Are Sores On Mouth And Swelling In Lips Side Effects Of Duloxetine?

I was just prescribed duloxetine for leg pain that I ve had for years also for depression. My father died last year in April 29 my brother died March 29 this year. I ve been depressed a lot of my life. When I started taking this med I got like a urinary track infection. I ve never had one but mom has. It hurt really bad to pee. Also the pee was really dark. My mouth got sores in it. But when I looked up thrust it kinda looks like that. Also lips started to swell. Is this a normal side affect

I am sorry for your loss and can understand your concern. The lip swelling and sore mouth might be due to allergic reaction of the Duloxetine you have been prescribed. You can take antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) once a day for few days and see if the swelling disappears. If it does then you can start the medicine again under doctor's supervision to decide if you are having allergies due to this medicine only or some other allergen you might be exposed too.

Moreover, the sores in mouth could be due to stress you have been dealing with lately. Relaxation can help by yoga and meditation exercises. You can apply topical Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the ulcers 3-4 times a day specially before meals for faster healing and painless eating.
