Are Sneezing, Itchy Eyes And Headaches The Symptoms Of Sinus Infection?

I am not sure whether I have a sinus infection or possibly allergies. I do not have a lot of sneezing, itchy eyes but I do have constant pain at my cheekbones, hot, burning eyes, headaches above my eyes and occasional pain in my ears. I finished taking an antibiotic about 3 weeks ago for strep throat and a bacterial infection. I have treating myself with over-the-counter sinus pressure medicine but do not seem to find any relief. I may be taking the wrong medication. Please advise.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of pain in cheek bones along with headache, hot burning eyes and pain in the ears seems to be most probably due to Sinus infection or Sinusitis and does not seems to be due to allergies as you do not have much of sneezing, itchy eyes etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS View x ray or MRI scan of sinuses can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Motrin, if there is congestion decongestants like Phenylephrine can be advised..
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..You can do saline nasal irrigation and use steroid nasal sprays....
Do warm compresses over the cheeks..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
