Are Painful Lump On Head And Fever In A Toddler Post A Fall A Cause For Concern?
My 2 year old was standing at the top of a 5ft slide he fell on his right side I heard a loud bang ,when I checked he had a lump on the side of his head. He has had temperature since the fall which was 2 days ago he keeps complaining about his head hurting and the back of his neck, what should I do?
Your boy should have contusion over the site of injury which is collection of blood in the scalp. I suggest hot compression over the site for relief. Use some analgesics too. Use paracetamol for your child to get rid of pain. It will subsides within one or two days. If the temperature persists, consult a physician to rule out other causes. Analgesics relieve the neck pain too.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
