My 11 year old daughter has had a head ace with neck an back pain for over three day now say a doc today who prescribed a muscle relaxer also say a chiropractor with some relief to the neck but more pain to the head. Do you think we are dealing with a migraine or do we need to be looking at other possibilities?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Common causes of headache, neck and back pain in an eleven-year child are viral infection-induced malaise, typhoid fever or else and migraine is least likely possibility.

Kindly discuss the need for basic lab tests as complete hemogram or else with her pediatrician to proceed for the diagnostic path and let her get cured at earliest.

Till that time, syrup ibuprofen with paracetamol is the best remedy to relieve her pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
