Are Effexor And Cymbalta Good Alternatives Of Paxil?

I was sexually abused by my father as a little girl and now I have Fibromyalgia, Depression, Anxiety, Sleep issues, back, neck and knees pain. I know take Paxil CR and was told today to check on perhaps Cymbalta or Effexor. I also have PTSD from the years of abuse? Would a change from Paxil to Effexor or Cymbalta be advised?

Answer: All three medications (Effexor, Cymbalta and Paxil) have been proven to help with depression and PTSD. While Cymbalta also helps with fibromyalgia and other chronic painful conditions,

Therefore, I would recommend that you consider Cymbalta due to its additional advantage in pain management. However, not every patient will benefit from this drug (or other drugs in such a condition) as desired. So, it would be advisable that you see your doctor (psychiatrist) and discuss your condition and concerns.
