Any Suggestion For Ruptured Ear Drum?

Hi Doc,

My son probably got a ruptured eardrum due to a sports injury - similar to a slap. Now his hearing is low and I could see a small rupture of the eardrum near its side. What do we do? I have heard that these kinds of injuries heal on their own in a couple of weeks.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Yes these kind of injuries do have a good chance of healing.
The most important part is that keep the ear dry and do not allow water to enter inside .
Take antibiotic and decongestant and multi vitamin course and wait and watch . It will heal in 15-20 days.
In doubt do reply
