Usually HSV infection would not leave permanent scars. Only Herpes Zoster would leave a permanent scar. That too in hands, HSV is not a common affair whereas HZ could occur. So are you sure that your past infection was definitely due to HSV and not a HZ? There are certain creams available in the market for post inflammatory scars and also for recent scars. They will help you to an extent. Moreover by years also the scars teds to vanish if it is a superficial one. You better to consult a Dermatologist, he/she will help you better in this regards.
