8 Year Old, Intermittent Pain In Lower Left Side. Taken Paracetamol. Any Ideas?

Hi, my 8 year old son has been complaining of intermittent pain in lower left side for about 2 -3 hours. (Very distressed when pain occurs and settled in between). He is not nauseous and temperature is normal. He last opened his bowels yesterday and couldn't go today. He is very uncomfortable when straightening his body. I gave him some paracetamol about 30 minutes ago. He is now just become more settled. Just wondering what this could be? I have phoned out of hours GP and they will call me back within the hour. Thanks, Catrin.

Pediatrician 's  Response
constipation can be the cause of abdominal pain.but the intermittent pain points towards some other diagnosis too.to confirm what is the cause of pain you need some investigations like straight x-ray abdomen and ultrasonography of the abdomen.plz have an expert consultation as early as possible to ascertain the cause.
