8 Months Old Suffering From Barrel Chest. Can It Be A Hernia ?

My son iss 8 months old but was almost 2 months premature his bottom ribs seem to be sticking out a little further than I would call normal my stepdad is calling it barrel chested I m very concerned could this be a hernia? I also am concerned about the faces he makes he is always making faces and rolling his eyes back watt could that be?

In infants barrel chest is quite visible more than adults .Congenital hernia in the chest isnt common.Adequate growth and development should avert this problem.
Babies do make all kinds of faces esp at that age.But,you need to beware that he doesnt seize or have a convulsion(which may also sometimes cause rolling of eyes)Have him checked out by his peadiatrician once.
