6 Year Old Kid, Itching And Discomfort Near Anus. Done Deworming. Is This UTI?
Hello, My daughter is 6 yr old. 2 days back on saturday she was complaining about itching and discomfort near Anus so we went to doctor. Doctor suggested for Dewarming and same day we gave her medicine (Syrup) for dewarming. Yesterday midnight she again complained about discomfort. Is it a side effect of this medicine. I am afraid if its UTI?

Itching at the anal region could be because of other causes like fungal infections, increased moisture at the local area etc apart from worm infestation.
If there is local fungal infection antifungal may be required.
Improvement of local hygiene is important.
UTI presents with increased frequency of urine and burning urination. Fever may be associated.

deworming is t be done 2 consecutive days. worms die slowly in a day or two. itching is not common side effect but can occur rarely. you need not worry.
