30 Weeks Pregnant, Diabetic, Preclapsea, Hbp. Will The Baby Be Safe?
Hi, I am a soon to be grandmother , my daughter in law and son had to go to the hospital yesterday. She has sugar diabetes but she is only 30 weeks along. The doctor has been very close the entire time watching for anything that may be wrong. They went to the hospital and her doctor said it was preaclapsea? She will be in the hospital for the next 24 hours at least until they can do more test. She had hbp as well and their doctor was watching for this and already told them a lot of medical things since she is on the high risk. Is there any way you can tell me if 30 weeks is long enough for her to have the baby safe if it comes to that?

Hi, Thanks for wrinting to HCM.
After 28weeks if delivered the baby can survive. But since prematurity they may face some problem in the initial 2 years.
Because of gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia your daughter in law should be under observation and get treatment for it. If the complication progress then they may delver the baby to avoid any further complication. Post delivery your daughter in law will be normal.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
