2.5 Year Son, Head Hurt After Falling From Swing. Should I Consult A Doctor?
2.5 yr old son, average height and weight for age, fell backwards off a swing yesterday. He cried immediately and was soothed quickly yet complained that his head hurt. He was fine the remainder of the day/evening. No vomiting, etc. he slept well and woke this morning. He is still complaining that his head hurts (the back of his head). Should I follow up with dr or ER? Not sure how to proceed with this.
I have gone through your post in which you have mentioned that your 2.5 year old son fell backwards off a swing and hurt his head.
As he is still complaining of pain, symptomatic relief can be obtained by giving analgesics, ice compression & adequate rest. If it still persists or if he shows any other associated symptoms like vomiting, loss of consciousness, convulsions, etc...then it will be better to consult the Pediatrician. Investigation like X ray & CT scan of the brain will be helpful in ruling out any intra cranial injury.
Wishing your son a good health. Thanks & take care.
