2 Years. Discoloration On Lower Back. Should I Be Concern?

I ve just adopted a boy aged two and a half from an orphanage in Russia. I ve noticed he has a lot of what looks like bruising or discoloration on his lower back. I can t absolutely say it s unexplained, as he s only been with me for two weeks. But I can say it doesn t appear to be painful. I took him to my local GP who said, I can t explain it; I don t know, so I won t say anything. This didn t exactly put my mind at rest! Should I be concerned? Are there any other visual signs I should look out for? Thanks in advance . Eithne
