18 Years Old, Prediabetic, Not Overweight. Doing Regular Exercise. How Can I Prevent Diabetes?

I am 18 and I just found out I have prediabetes . I m kind of freaking out and don t know what to do. I didn t think I was overweight but I ve been exercising every day intensively for my whole life. I ve been trying really hard to lose weight and I did well up to a few years ago when I got depressed because my grandma died and a bunch of other stuff happened. I want to get back on track and I also just want to know how much weight I should lose to lower my risk of diabetes and even if I do lose it, how likely it will be that I won t develop diabetes.

DEAR SIR/MADAM

IF YOUR GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST VALUES SHOW THAT YOU ARE PREDIABETES, THE PLEASE CONCENTRATE ON THE FOLLOWING THINGS
1. PROPER AEROBIC EXERCISE - TWO TIMES A DAY.
2. DIETARY RESTRICTIONS - FOLLOW FIVE TIMES SPLIT DIETARY PATTERN
3. LIFE STYLE AND STRESS MANAGEMENT

PLEASE CONCENTRATE ON THESE, DONT ALONE CONCENTRATE ON WEIGHT LOSS, IF YOU WANT TO STILL CONFIRM ABOUT IT, THEN YOU CAN GET YOUR C PEPTIDE ESTIMATION, IF IT REVEALS HIGH THEN CERTAINLY YOU ARE IN PRE DIABETES.

THANKS

Welcome to HCM
Diet and exercise will definitely help in preventing pre diabetes to frank diabetes. Your weight should be in accordance to your height. Suppose lets say your height is 156 cm the your ideal weight would be 50 to 56 kg (156-100). There is no chance that you wont develop diabetes, You will , eventually, but with these you can prolong the time period from now to when you would actually turn into a diabetic.
Hope this answers your query.
