Dear
Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing your health query I’m of the following opinion:

1. As you are getting difficulties in doing Activities of Daily Living (ADL), thus the most probable cause is ‘nerve entrapment’ as suggested by”STENOSIS”

PS. Is this pathology age/occupational/ injury related, and whether taking any medicines for any other simultaneous pathology.

2. Also going by your age and presence of osteophytes, it looks like you are suffering from some degenerative disease, as such osteoarthritis, herniated/slip disc has to be excluded.

3. Prior to initiate management or treatment protocol, kindly consult an Orthopedic Doctor or at best have an appointment with a Spinal Surgeon regarding his/her view(s) on the report.

4. If you still feel that you want to go ahead with the Alternative Treatment I will furnish the details.

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. Since ‘stenosis’ is there do not go for forceful/deeper Massage [Panchkarma]/ Physiotherapy since they will increase blood circulation resulting in edema and further progression of the disease.

2. Because there is no specific condition described in Ayurveda texts thus treatment and management is based on ‘Vata Vyadhi’.

3. General Instruction(s) which is/are necessary before starting with the medicine(s):

i. Maintain a straight back posture while sitting or standing.
ii. Avoid bending forwards and lifting weights.
iii. Sleep on a hard mattress.
iv. Gentle massage
v. back exercises: Leg rising in dorsal recumbent position, pushups, swimming.

ii. Spine Management:
i. Relax the spine completely.
ii. Do not lie face down.
iii. Lie on your back with a pillow under the knee.
iv. Lie on the side with a pillow between the knees.
v. Distract your mind from the pain, watch television, read light humorous stories, listen to soothing music.
vi. Take 4 spoons of XXXXXXX juice
4 spoons of ginger juice
4 spoons of honey and take for 1 month.

4. DIETARY REGIMEN

i. Avoid: urad dal, curd, fish, jaggery, milk, incompatible and heavy food, suppression of natural urges, anxiety, grief, outdoor activities when the sky is covered with clouds, and cold wind.

ii. Take maize, horse gram, bitter gourd, dried ginger, garlic, ajowain, fennel, black pepper, saindhav lavan, asafoetida, cumin seeds, old ghee, lukewarm water, castor oil, light walking, sudation, warm clothes, garlic and ginger mixed butter milk].

iii. Fry 250 ml ginger juice in 250 ml of til tail, when 250 ml remains [make sure oil doesn't get burn], filter it after cooling and massage.

iv. Boil 1 spoon dried ginger in 4 cups of water till 1 cup remains, filter it and add 2 spoon castor oil and drink.

5.     I do prepare result oriented and evidence-based medicine [EBM] for such condition/pathology, if interested let me know so that we can discuss further.
