Question: can anyone tell me what this is on my labia minora? it came up after using a depilatory cream and the cream accidently got on my labia minora caused some burning. it was bleeding slightly after wiping with a castile soap wipe. doesnt itch or burn or tingle. also no fluid or puss has been released from it. I have lots of fordyce spots on my labia minora im thinking that one got a small chemical burn from the cream. not sure.

Brief Answer:
inflammatory reaction of body to depilatory cream most likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have read your query and seen the attached photo image.

Kindly find my advise below.

* The raised spot type lesion is secondary to inflammatory body reaction forming non
specific bump at the site of labia minora where there was accidental exposure of
depilatory cream.

* This type of lesion does appear in absence of itch or burning, tingling, without fluid or
pus discharge.

* The possibility of it being Bartholin cyst is very less likely ( as there is strong relation
with its appearance after the depilatory cream application ).

* Guidelines at present

- Do not worry for the same, as many of the times, it regress on its own by body`s
immune mediated mechanisms.
- Keep the part clean with antiseptic liquid to prevent secondary infection.
- Wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears.
- Avoid further use of such creams till it recovers fully.
- Keep a watch over its size and any abnormal discharge or else.

Would like to answer any further doubts over the issue.

Wish you fine health ahead.
Regards.
