Will Tramadol Show False Positive For Opiates In A Urine Drug Test?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2016
Question: I have a prescription for tramadol. I have to have a urine drug screen and I am wondering if the tramadol will show up as an opiate. This is for a job as a nurse, so I am worried they may not hire me. I take it only as prescribed for back pain. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Yes it will show as an opiate

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Tramadol is an opiate used for back pain. It will show as an opiate in your urine drug screening.
However if you have valid prescription of opiate and you are taking drug accordingly, no need to worry. You can show it and get exemption likely.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
