Question: Why is my period much lighter this month? Basically I only need one towel all day and it looks like it is stopping on day 3. Can I still conceive. I am 44 so I know my body is changing but I have seen a fertility specialist a couple of months ago who isnt concerned and says I can conceive naturally

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will answering your concerns today.

Your weight gain could be the reason for lighter period that you had this month. Get your thyroid function tests done.
As regards fertility concerns, at age 44, although you can conceive spontaneously, your chances of spontaneous pregnancy reduce compared to a lady less than 35 years. Has your doctor done the antral follicle count, and blood FSH and AMH levels. These tests will guide us better. I presume your husband’s semen analysis is normal.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Hi,
Welcome back.
Even though you have light bleeding during menstruation,as I wrote before, there is a small possibility of conceiving naturally.

Such light bleeding can occur in early pregnancy. Get a pregnancy test done.
