Question: Dear Sir,
IMy baby was born 2 months ago. From the moth when it was born her one of the leg is not straight as attached in the images.Do we need to take any action on this or would correct by itself as baby grows.
Also Currently 2 Months 1 week over wanted to confirm whether we can give water for drinking or should be given only after 6 Months,
Also could you confirm if we can bath the baby and apply baby powder or should be done only after 6 months

Brief Answer:
The baby's leg seems to have a physiological bowing

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

1. The baby's leg seems to be having a physiological bowing or bending. I do not see any urgent requirement for medical attention.
But at the same time I would like to reassure you that this requires follow up and as the baby is growing up the both legs length have to be compared for any discrepancy and if it is not getting corrected during follow-up of every month vaccination and developmental follow up, then probably the baby would require an x-ray.

2. I recommend you not to give water till 6 months of age. Exclusive breastfeeding is the best and most preferred International recommendation even as per World Health Organisation recommendations.

3. You can give bath to the baby and apply powder daily that is not a problem.

Brief Answer:
Suggestions on vaccination

Detailed Answer:
Hi... I suggest that you need to give pneumococcal 13 valent vaccine which is not included in the schedule.
It comes under the trade name of prevnar.
You can get it with any private pediatrician.
The vaccine needs to be given 3 doses before 6 months of age 1 month apart and booster between 15 to 18 months of age.
