Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would explain that the main cause underlying high triglycerides are usually diet and alcohol intake.

You should know that a diet with high sugar and saturated fat can increase triglyceride levels.

Another possible cause would be genetics (hereditary causes of dyslipidemia) and low physical activity.

Regular physical activity and aerobics can help lower triglyceride levels.

Anyway, your triglyceride levels are not so high. I would just recommend some diet modifications and trying more food rich in omega 3 fatty acids (walnuts, nuts, olive oil, etc.).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Thank you for your answer.

My specific question was.... what in my diet causes my triglicerides to go up ? Is is the bread, the tofurkey of vegan cheese ? Everything else in my diet has been the same for years. Or if you believe it is none of these, indicate it as well.

My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

It may be because your metabolism has changed, even though nothing has changed in your diet.

I recommend checking thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction.

The bread and vegan cheese if eaten in big amounts can lead to higher triglycerides levels, but in small portions, I don't think that they increase triglyceride levels.
