Brief Answer: Considerations Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query, Is the cancer a bladder cancer or a prostate cancer? It sounds as if the cancer is advanced in stage. At this time the major focus may have to be on pure comfort. A urologist can perform a suprapubic catheter which is placed into the bladder directly. This will bypass the urethra but may be associated with other complicatins. I suggest you sit down with a urological surgeon to review the options and proceed with a possible surgical approach. I can appreciate that you are deaing with a very stressful situation here and I hope we can help provide you with some good guidance. Al the best, Dr. Galamaga

Many patients with four months, years and even decades with this particular type of cancer. many advances have been made with medications in order to help keep this disease under control. I expect that you're having good discussions with oncologists regarding optimal medications to manage this prostate cancer. most importantly quality-of-life should be the priority with management of almost any disease and I hope this is the case for you.
