Question: I am 33 years old and trying to conceive. I have a stressful work life and get exhausted. I tried for 3 to 4 months but failed to conceive. I visited a gynaecologist and underwent a single follicle study. My reports were normal and doctors told that I was ovulating and the follicle ruptured on its own and I was asked to try on my most fertile days. I dobt hv pcos. My husband's semen analysis was also gave a good result. I was prescribed duphaston 10mg from 15th day of my cycle till 14 days. But I got my periods on a 29th day exactly after I completed the 14 day course. I am also having cramps more than usual. I missed the tablets for 2 days in between. Why am I not conceiving. Pls help.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
There could be various reasons for not conceiving.
Stress could be a major reason.
Plus, with ageing, ovarian performance declines in females.
You have just undergone one cycle of follicular study.
I think you should go for follicular monitoring with IUI ( intrauterine insemination ) for atleast 6 cycles, after that, your tubes should be checked ( whether open or not ) with laparoscopy .
Basic thyroid and blood sugar tests also should be done.
All the best.
Take care.
