Question: What is the usual dosage of diflucan for oral thrush? How many days? Can prednisone cause thrush?

The normal dose of fluconazole is 200 mg on first day and 100mg daily for atleast 2weeks. Oral and esophageal candidiasis responds to 100-200mg daily. This dose is used in high risk individuals.
It has adverse effects like nausea, vomiting, Diarrhoea. You can take antiemetics if you have vomiting problems.
It can also be used as oral suspension with a dose of 10-40 mg/ml can be used for two weeks.
Prednisolone is a steroid that reduces the immune power and increases the chances of oppurtunistic infections like candidiasis.
