Question: Had a pain in right upper abdomen. The pain was from last 1 year but it was occasional and not sharp. From mid of November the pain increased and so consulted general physician. He prescribed following medicine and said you might have chronic / colitis / IBS ; Omeprazole- 1-1 for 10 days Metronidazole 400MG- 1-1-1 for 5 days Unienzyme 1-1 for 7 days. Completed the full course of metronidazole 400MG and consulted another physician as pain was relived but not completely cured. Further, I started feeling excessive gas, burning in stomach. On my visit to another doctor he prescribed following medicine for 5 days & then to undergo test; Orni-O (Ornidazole 500mg & Ofloxacin 200 mg) 1-1 for 5 days Famtac 40 MG (Famotidine)- 1-1 for 5 days Colospa 135 MG (Mebeverine)- 1-1 for 5 days Thereafter I conducted test of blood, stool, USG; result of all the parameter was normal within range except few which is given below, Stool Test-: Mucous : Present + pH : Acidic Pus Cells : 2-3 /hpf Blood test: Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (Westergreen Method) 1st Hour 22 mm. Peripheral Blood smear comment / RBC Morphology: RBC shows normocytic normochromic USG report was normal After seeing the report doctor said everything is normal and you are having pain due to excess gas. He asked me to continue the Fantac 40 MG tab & Colospa135 Mg for 1 months and eat light food and do lot of travelling. My current situation is; Pain in right abdomen is occasional and not hard as I was experiencing earlier. Pain in the chest & heart is still there. I am having daily coconut water and food which is very low in oil, spice or ghee.

Kindly note that the above written querry was posted and replied by some other doctor but since the question is closed now I cannot raise my followup question & test report which now I have written here.

I consulted gastroenterlogist and the detail of all the report and prescription is attached for your review.

As suggested by you and the local Doctor I have undergone few tests including Upper GI Endoscopy. Please find attached below given documents and co-relate the same with earlier attached reports.
•     Prescription first part.
•     Prescription second part.
•     USG Report.
•     Hepatic Fibrosis Assessment.
•     Upper GI Endoscopy report.
•     Vitamin B12 & D3 report.

Doctor has advised following medicine
•     2 months long medicine for because of high SGPT, SGOT (refer blood report) and impression of Hepatomegaly.-URSOKEM 300 MG twice after meal .
•     2 month empty stomach once in a day Rabonik Plus
•     Antifungal capsule- Syscan 150 Mg for 7 days because during endoscopy they have seen infection in my throat & food pipe.
•     Vitamin B12 Injection & Vitamin D3 Calcirol Granules.

I was feeling better with the above medicine till 2 days before. Dr said me to eat everything except high oil, fat and reduce sugar intake.
As advised, I was eating normal home made food but for last 2 days I ate outside (due to my work) and little extra food in lunch, few oranges etc. This led to have irritation in my upper right abdomen again.
Kindly advise me the food/beverages which I should avoid so that it is completely cured.

Further as per endoscopy apart from Gastritis, I was also diagnosed with LAX Lower Esophageal Sphincter and Esophageal candidiasis.
I am not aware about what the last two problem is (other than Gastritis).
Also the medicine which is prescribed by Dr is sufficient for all the problems identified.

Brief Answer:
Appropriate prescription is given.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw all the reports and prescription.
Appropriate prescription has been given to you.
At the junction of Esophagus and stomach, there will be lower esophageal sphincter. It is lax in your case.If it is lax,It allows gastric juice /contents enter into esophagus causing pain in the centre of the chest causing heart burn.Esophageal Candidiasis also add to the pain.
Treatment given by your doctor is sufficient.
You should avoid spicy food,Oily food, masala food,Carbonated drinks,Caffeine products.Alcohol and smoking are to be avoided.
You should take frequent small feeds.
Have at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.

Many thanks for your reply.

I have 1 query that, I was having pain in my chest as well as upper right abdomen. After taking medicine the pain in chest is relieved but pain in upper abdomen is still there. I wanted to know that can this pain symptom also be related to the findings in my endoscopy reports or it may be because of some other reasons.
