What Does This Semen Analysis Report Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I have got my SA done couple of days back. Following is my report highlights,
Volume: 3.2ml
Concentration: 64 million/ml (Total Ejaculate: 204.8 millions)
Live: 62%
Total Motility: 42%
Morphology (Tygerberg Kruger): 4%
When I consulted my doctor, she said my morphology score is too low with 96% defects, so I cannot conceive my wife (her tube test reports are normal) normally and we need IUI.
But based on my understanding, 4% in morphology under Kruger methodology is normal. Am I wrong? Could you please help me here. I am little confused now.
Also, with the sperm concentration is on the higher side (64 mill/ml with a total of 204 million), what is the significance of morphology score. Shouldn't that be less critical.

Just for my information, I wanted to know these percentages are for total ejaculated sperm count, right.
In my report they have also mentioned about Acrosome reaction after Ionosphere challenge to be 8% which is low and DFI to be 16% which is moderate. Can this cause any issue.

This count is for one ml and not total ejaculated sample.
DFI and acrosome reaction seems to be normal.
