Brief Answer:
Lymphocytes a 52.4 percent is mildly elevated and requires assessment

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks fir writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The normal lymphocyte count is in the range of 20 to 40 percent of white blood cells.

2. The normal absolute lymphocyte count is in the range of 1.00 - 3.00 X 10³/ µL

3. I understand that you are inquiring about lymphocyte percentage of 52.4 percent. This is a mildly elevated count.

4. Usually the term lymphocytosis refers to a count significantly higher than 3000 lymphocytes in a microliter of blood in adults.

5. The commonest cause of mild lymphocytosis is infection due to bacteria or viruses and chronic auto immune conditions. In cancer the lymphocytosis is too high and monoclonal in appearance.

Please get a peripheral blood smear test done.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Hi XXXXX,

Brief Answer:
You require additional tests and detailed clinical examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

1. I do not confirm leukemia if absolute lymphocytes are over 5000 in count.

2. It is important to get additional tests done and also get examined clinically.

3. Severe infections and autoimmune conditions might also increase lymphocytes significantly.
