Brief Answer:
May suggest that there i still some tumor left!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what your mom is going through. The galliium scan is reassuring but her symptoms and levels of tumor markers are concerning.

I will like to know what the previous values of of chromogranin A and 5HIAA were before surgery. Chromgranin A i way over the normal range an suggest that there is a probable tumor somewhere. However, if this is lower than values before surgery, it may suggest that it is reducing over time and not necessarily that more is being produced by an unidentified tumor. The best value of this marker after surgery is for monitoring. But with persistence o symptoms, this seems more likely than not that there is some tumor tissue hiding somewhere.

5HIAA seems normal.

The problem responsible for the symptom is not her diet. The disease is and that's where the treatment lies. There is no specific diet recommended for persons with this condition. She may want to tap into her personal experience and selectively consume more of what she feels comfortable with and not necessarily recommendations from a general public. Staying active is a good ingredient for health promotion. Let her continue to exercise as much as she can tolerate.

In all, ask her doctor whether they think there is an ongoing cancerous process or not? I believe there is something going on: Either all the tumor was not removed or there is another site that has not been detected.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Surgery first, then medical if failure/difficulty.

Detailed Answer:
1) what is the treatment of carcinoid at marker level (as it is not showing a tumor)
The best treatment of carcinoid tumor is surgery/ If this is impossible, drugs to control cell production of active hormones and substances is used. Some are Octreotide (Sandostatin) and lanreotide (Somatuline Depot). Ask her doctors about this.
2) what is the treatment of re occurrence of carcinoid tumor of stomach.

Treatment follows the same guidelines. If surgery is possible, fine. If not, drugs to control and prevent symptoms are considered.

3) what is the treatment of carcinoid syndrome.

See above for treatment/ Surgery and drugs.

4) is their any treatment in homeopathy, ayurveda etc to treat the carcinoid.

I have no idea of such existing treatment. But really doubt if there is any evidenced based in this direction at this time.

5) I welcome your opinion and suggestion to cure the carcinoid disease.

I hope this helps. I understand how difficult this is to the entire family and especially your mom. I hope solutions be reached at sooner than later.
