What Does This Eye Test Result Indicate?

Question: Hi Dr,

I have an eye sight, i have done the eye test today & the glasses which i am using as below given power lens

Right EYE SPH is -1.50, CYL is 0.0 and AXS is 180

Left EYE SPH is -1.25 CYL is 0.0 and AXS is 180

Please suggest me i wanted to go for LASER Treatment

Brief Answer:
Refractive error specs contactlens optionand refractive surgeryare open.

Detailed Answer:
You are myopic and defect is only spherical. No astigmatism or cylindrical defect.In my opinion you can very well go for laser. It is ideal and laser will be successful. For any refractive error there are three option. One is specs and other one is contact lens and last is refractive surgery.For you all the option are open your error is very small so you have to decide the option. For refractive surgery some delayed complication like posterior wall dystrophy of cornea may take place. Considering all the facts you have to decide for option. You can discuss with doctor plus and minus of all option and take your time to decide.It is mainly between contact lens and refractive surgery. In contact lens corneal errosion due to dry eye. Daily maintenance of contact lens and loosing the lens in out door activity will be there. So for decision your requirement and activity is more important.Ask the option and suitability in your case to surgeon doing refractive surgery.
