What Does This Bone Scan For Leg Pain Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: Right leg pain started in calf. Xray showed small fracture of smaller bone middle of lower leg. Dr ordered bone scans to get to the bottom of break, not caused by fall or injury. Bone scan shows black areas low lumbar,,ankles, feet, and knees. Will see follow up on Friday w/Dr. But reports read possible degenerate changes but no mention of the fracture. Pain has not let up since late Feb or first part of April when it started. What do dark areas mean and how are they sure it is not cancer, infection or orther

Brief Answer:
Kindly scan and email me the reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I would not be able to comment unless you can kindly scan the report and email or upload it to YYYY@YYYY

Look, a picture produces a thousand words out of which one is the right diagnosis.

Words such as dark regions, and degeneration do not suffice to judge whether the issues are cancerous or infectious.

This is common sense.

If you have any technical issues in sending the reports, please contact the customercare people, they will help you out.

I'm anticipating the reports so that I can make an educated diagnosis of your problems and guide you well, rather than giving generic reassurance.

Thanks,

Thank you very much for wanting to follow up, but I saw my Doctor Friday 15th,had an an ultra sound, no blood clots all negative, he says it is arthritis but checking my back ( which is very bad) to see if there is a pinched nerve, reason is I don't feel the arthritis is causing such severe pain in such a short time ( pain started about 6 weeks ago and has gotten worse, I will be going to an nureologist next week. My mother and daughter went about a year or so before they had severe pain, something has to be found, hopefully.

Many thanks, I will let you know the results if you want ????

Brief Answer:
You might want to use a TENS device if it's a pinched nerve. You're OK.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

I feel that after you see your neurologist, even if a nerve problem is detected, you can easily solve it without the need for medication. There is a device in the market called as TENS, and this smartphone sized device sends small amounts of an electric current using a special waveform to stop the symptoms.

If you wish and feel so, you might send me the results and I can guide you.

As for arthritis, your hunches might be right. However, it would be very wise to check the nerve issues.

I encourage your thoughts on this as your opinions will guide further treatment.

Thanks.
