Brief Answer:
Increased platelet activation - post clopidogrel withdrawal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Platelet count, any time above 100000 is good. Only if there is bleeding, then it should be worried. The platelet count is good and not be worried about.
2. Occasionally after clopidogrel is stopped, platelet overactivation occurrs, i.e. numerous young platelets are formed, which are much larger. This has resulted in the presence of macroplatelets. This will be present for another 10-12 days and after that, it will return to normal.
3. Also if there is any bleeding, macroplatelets can be seen. If there is no bleeding, not to worry.

Vit B12 and folic acid supplements will be helpful to improve hemoglobin and platelet count. Not to worry about macroplatelets, it will slowly disappear within the next few days.

Hope it helps.
