Brief Answer: Colposcopy needed Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your query. I have gone through your reports. The pap-smear shows low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion of the cervix. Your HPV reports came back positive. Vaginal swab is normal. The best next step here would be to go for colposcopy. But it is not an emergency, since LSILs grow very slowly. Alternatively you can repeat the pap-smear in 6 months and if repeat is also positive then you may go for colposcopy.. Mostly LSILs disappear spontaneously. Some remain and may progress to HSIL, etc. I would not get worried about HPV coming back positive. More than 90% adults are HPV positive. I mostly do not even ask the woman to go for HPV test, since it usually comes back positive. Hope you got your answer. Let me know if I can assist you further. Dr Vaishalee
