Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Poor oral acceptance of breast feed with excessive cry in a well growing baby without any other symptom is most likely due to abdominal colic.
I would like to know
whether the decreased feeding with cry is episodic or persistent?
Is there any weight loss?
Is there any decreased frequency of urination?
Is there any other symptom like loose stool or vomiting?

I won't get worried if answer of all these questions is NO.

Giving colic relieving medication like simethicon (Coaid/colicaid) will help.

At 6 month weaning should be started in the semi solid consistency.

Please answer the question so that I better able to help you out.

The crying is only there when we are trying to give her breast feed and is not persistent.
no we have not seen the weight loss. four days back she was 6 Kg. her birth weight was 2.8 Kg.
There is drop in the frequency of urination.
There is no loose stool or vomiting.
Seeing this we have started giving her cerelac for past four days.
Now she is also having very less sleep and is waking in the night continuously which was not the case earlier.
This morning also she is feeling hungry, is liking and sucking what ever she is getting in her hand but is not breast feeding and is crying.

Brief Answer:
If she is accepting semisolid food then give that

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up

The weight gain is appropriate so I won't get overly worried.
Although the sleep pattern can vary but this may also be due to the inadequate feeds
If she is not accepting breast feed but taking cerelac well then give that. You can also give dal ka pani, mashed rice, mashed banana/potato apart from cerelac.
The one thing I am thinking of that you are highlighting every time that she is crying only while breast feeding.
If she is crying even during cerelac feed, I would like to get her to a pediatrician for examination of oral cavity if there is any ulcer or other abnormality which is causing pain.
Please do ask if you have any more doubts.
Regards
.

At present she is crying, only when we are trying to breast feed. It feels as if she is not liking it at all. She have breast feed when she is sleepy, but while awake no matter what we do she doesn't have it.
My wife is having enough milk and we are worried whether she'll completely stop breast feed if we start other options.

Brief Answer:
You can try expressed breast feed with katori spoon

Detailed Answer:
If she is does not like breast feed, you can give her expressed breast milk with katori spoon.
By doing this the milk production and flow will continue and breast engorgement can also be prevented.
Give her breast feed while she is sleeping and also give complementary feed as suggested earlier.
