What Does Persistent Right Sided Chest Pain Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Oct 2016
Question: For the last 3 or 4 months I have had pain on the right side of my chest, just to the right of the collar bone.
It seems to hurt if I reach to pick up something and then after a few minutes I start to belch which is unusual
for me. It feels like a pulled muscle, that kind of pain. I'm a 70 year old female and reasonable healthy.

Brief Answer:
Might be muscle spasm, analgesic and muscle relaxant, analgesic cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query and do understand your concern.
Based on the information I feel it is likely to be muscle spasm.

Presently I would suggest you to try alternating ice and heat on your affected part. Ice will help reduce inflammation and heat may help improve blood flow.
I would have prescribed you aceclofenac + thiocochicoside combination two times a day for three days. ( As you are already on muscle relaxant you can skip this)
Along with this application of analgesic gel or spray to the affected area would be beneficial. Avoid any activity that increases or aggravate your symptom. With this measures you should be fine. If it still persists or intensity increases I would suggest you to see orthopaedician for assistance.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
