Brief Answer:
It could be thyroiditis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The ultrasound scan of the thyroid shows that
1. Your thyroid is moderately enlarged
2. The normal structure of the thyroid is altered

This is a usual ultrasound report we see in early cases of thyroiditis - which is an inflammation of thyroid. Please have your thyroid function tests and anti thyroid antibodies done. This will give you a clue on the underlying thyroid function - Whether your thyroid is under active or over active.

Since there is no dominant nodule in thyroid you need not do a needle test (FNAC) to look for cancerous conditions.

Please share with us the thyroid function reports.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
