What Does Negative UPT And Delayed Period With Abnormal Symptoms Indicate?
Question: Hi,
I am 28 and married since 3 years. For the last 2-3 months, we have been planning for kids. This time, my period was due on 27-Feb but has not happened till date. However, when I take the home pregnancy test, it has shown "Negative" result the last 2-3 times. I am also experiencing pain in the lower abdomen for the last 2-3 days sporadically. The lower abdomen feel tight and painful. Have also been having headaches now and then.
I am confused as to what is going on, and whether my period has missed due to any other medical condition.

Negative pregnancy test and delayed periods with abnormal symptoms indicate that there can be an ectopic tubal pregnancy.
Get a bHCG test at the earliest and then we will see for the co relation.
BHCG is very accurate in detecting pregnancy and levels will tell us the site of pregnancy.
Get the test done and then we will discuss further management.
In case bHCG is normal then probably this delay was just due to physiological reasons so nothing to worry about it and just wait for your periods.

Take tablet norethisterone 5 mg thrice a day for 3 days and after stopping the drug you will get periods in 2-5 days.
