Brief Answer:
Multiple small stones in left kidney and one is on its way down the ureter.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
In my practice I report IVP everyday and am glad to hlep you out with your report.

From your description, it is understood that you had passed a small stone in your urine and have been told that there are five small stones in your (?left) kidney and the largest measures about 9 mm stone in size. This was on X ray KUB and you were told to do IVP.

The IVP report in simple language details the following:
(i) There are faint white shadows in the region of left kidney.
(ii) The collecting system of left kidney (PCS) is showing mild obstruction. This obstruction is from the kidney through the upper portion of tubes connecting kidney and urinary bladder on left side (ureter). This is most likely due to a small stone which is on its way down the ureter.

In conclusion:
There are many small stones still in the left kidney. One of the stones has passed onto the ureter and is stuck in the upper portion. This stone too shall pass out into the urinary bladder and then to the exterior through the penile urethra. At its current position you might feel moderate to severe pain along left lower abdomen.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
