Question: I had been in an accident 3years ago, there was heavy bruising on outer left thigh, after sometime the bruising was gone, but I can feel a lump just under the skin. A year after the accident got a ultrasound, was told it is hematoma, as it was not painful it was not treated. But since last week have burning sensation on both sides of thigh and pain at the spot of the lump and the complete left thigh region.

Brief Answer:
Meralgia paraesthetica

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

The tingling and numbness could be due to local nerve compression called Meralgia paraesthetica. This occurs usually at the waist.

I suggest you apply warm packs to the affected region twice a day.

Avoid wearing tight belt or tight waist clothes. Perform hip strengthening exercises.

Avoid applying pressure on the lump. Take Tablet Neurobion forte twice a day for a month.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Organised haematoma

Detailed Answer:
Sometimes the haematoma can get organised and trap a nerve and can cause pain. Application of warm packs should help. Range of movement exercise will also help.
