Brief Answer:
yes you can but increase the dosage to 75mcg

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thanks for posting in HCM.
As the TSH value has gone to 7.68 as it was previously at 6 for which he was prescribed 50mcg of eltroxin/ thyronorm it is essential to increase the dosage of eltroxin also to 75 mcg.
He should take this tablet in morning before breakfast empty stomach.
Kindly do a repeat TSH, free T3 and free T4 study after 1 month to see the progress because if the values are nearing normal range, the dosage needs to be reduced further.
As per the query of non availability, there are many other companies producing this content medications. The content should be 'levo thyroxine' 75mcg. Most of the pharmacist will be having this but might be in different trade name but the content will remain same.
I hope I have provided you with satisfactory answer.
If you need any more clarification kindly write back to me will be happy to answer.
Thank you

One last question : i checked the content in medplus mart, both eltroxin and thyronorm has Thyroxine sodium and not levo thyroxine. Are they same, if yes, pls suggest which would be better. Eltroxin is manufavtured by Glaxo and thyronorm by abbott labs. Thank you for ur help

Brief Answer:
Both are equally efficient

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam,

yes they do not mention the levo word in some sites but all the thyroxine medications are levo thyroxine only. Both thyronorm and eltroxine are equally efficient and there can't be any comparison in both. It depends on patient's affordability to purchase it.

So i would suggest do not worry about which one is better, believe me both are equally efficient and you can buy the one which is affordable for you.

I hope i have answered you satisfactorily.
Thank you mam and take care.
