Your 2 yr old child has taken Thyroxine Sodium tablets 50 mcg by mistake. Usually with this very low dosage no complication will arise. If you check the thyroid level, temporarily it may show an increase in level T3 and T4.
Fact: There is no relationship between the serum T4 and T3 concentrations and any symptoms or signs of hyperthyroidism. Children who accidentally ingest even large amounts of thyroid hormone may have very high serum thyroid hormone concentrations, but rarely have any symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
So no need for any treatment other than observation. If you are still worried a gastric wash may be useful (Not absolutely indicated)
