What Does My Lipid Profile Results Indicate?

Question: Hi .. My name is XXXX . PFB my lipid profile
S. Triglycerides 243
HDL Cholesterol 36
LDL Cholesterol 160
VLDL Cholesterol 48.6

Total Cholesterol 235

Please let me know if this lipid profile is a reason to worry

I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Your cholesterol levels are somewhat altered. HDL is good cholesterol. Your HDL level is low. And your LDL and triglycerides is somewhat higher. Total cholesterol is also at high normal range.
This is a risk factor for coronary heart disease.
But no need to worry. It is reversible. You can control it.
You should take low fat diet with high amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
You can also take drugs like atorvastatin or pravastatin to control cholesterol levels. But this is a prescription drug so you should consult your doctor and take according to his advice.

Just one last question.. is it advisable to eat fruits like apples and bananas ? Heard bananas might have some fats... also suggest on vegetables plz....
