What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?
Question: 3 days back I had visited a skin doctor about a rash on my genital. And the doctor suspected it to be genital herpes and asked me to get Herpes Simple Virus Test done.
Meanwhile he asked me to start with valcivir 1000 tab and Fusidic Acid cream on the rash. There is good progress and the rash 95% disappeared. My test rest result has come but the skin doctor is not in town. So, kindly review the enclosed test result and let me know if it's genital herpes or not.

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the test report.
As far as this test goes, it says that you don't have any lab evidence of herpes. It says that you don't have any detectable antibodies, either IgM Or IgG to Hsv type 2 virus. There could be reasons for this. Number 1, either the test was done too soon before any detectable antibodies have developed Or Number 2, it is due to a different virus i.e Hsv type 1 virus.
I suggest you to repeat the test after 4 weeks, for both Hsv Type 1 virus as well as Hsv Type 2 virus.
