What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Question: I am going through chemo for breast cancer. Recent blood tests show liver SGPT of 124, SGOT of 82 and Alkaline Phosphatase, s of 126. How high is this considered to be when on chemo?

Brief Answer: Considerations. Detailed Answer: hello and thank you for sending the question. This is a very good question. While on chemotherapy this is not necessarily a major problem. It does need to be checked again however in the near future to make sure there is no trend in a higher direction. As you may know, systemic chemotherapy may cause slight elevation of liver enzymes. Also we have to watch other things like kidney function and electrolytes. i'm sure your medical oncologist is keeping a close eye on this. In the meantime it is reporting that you focus on maintaining adequate hydration with very good well-balanced diet through the course of your treatment. thanks again for sending your question.
