Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I would explain that a single blood pressure value does not indicate uncontrolled high blood pressure.

It may be related to the anxiety when consulting with your doctor (also called White Coat Syndrome).

Coming to this point, I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure for a week ( frequently during the day in sitting position after 10 minutes of total relax) and refer those values to your doctor.

If your blood pressure values are above 140/90 mm Hg most of the time, you should discuss with your doctor on the possibility of making some changes to your actual therapy (increase the dose of lisinopril or add another anti-hypertensive drug) in order to have a better control of blood pressure values.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Yes, anxiety can cause these spikes in blood pressure. But they are not harmful and if your mean blood pressure values are within the normal ranges, there is no need to make any changes to your current therapy.

Wishing good health,
