What Does Bruise After A Hamstring Pull Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Jun 2014
Question: I have a red huge bruise a week after pulling my hamstring. I slipped and went into the splits on a slick restaurant floor. Could it be torn? If so, what is treatment? I walk just fine. What is rough is car seats when driving and sitting on the low commode. My purple bruise is now red. I was doing better. But the red worries me. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Avoid walking.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

If you were not able to stand then it could have been torned but from your history it seems to be a tear which would be healed by the time.

You should try to avoid walking and driving as much as you can. By taking rest healing of muscle again starts but if bruise starts increasing in size and also if pain increases further then you should get your MRI scan done and send me the report.

Apply ice to your leg to reduce pain and swelling. Do it for 20-30 minutes every three to four hours for two to three days, or until the pain is gone.

You can take 1 tab. aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase three times a day.

Have keen watch on the colour of bruise for next 3 days if it still remains red then go for MRI scan.

I hope you have got your answer.
