Question: I have odor in my vaginal area. There does not seem to be much discharge, I have no itching like yeast infections that I have had occasionally over the years. I am 69

It can be due to vaginal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.

If you have only smell odor in your vaginal area it can be due to bacterial infection like Gardnerella vaginalis.

Hence to treat it you should try with these tips I write below:

- Sitz baths with warm water adding Betadine (1 liter of water 2 table spoon Betadine) three to four times per day
-Take over the counter Metronidazole cream or gel for 5 to 7 days BID
-Ensure to Drink much more water and cranberry juices (about 2.5- 3 liters per day)
-Use probiotics two times per day for 10 days

If vaginal odor will not pass by these tips than it's necessary have a pelvic exam and a urinalysis .
