Yhea i went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me Valtrex and i am supposed to take it as soon as i have symptoms. I get cold sores rarely, a lot less than before, each time they are less recurrent and less violent. The number kind of scared me since it says positive if > 1.09 and i am 48.20 i kind of thought "god do i have the virus everywhere?" i know is ridiculous. So how come they did a test for hsv-1 if its not consider an STD? I have never had any kind of outbreak in my genital area.
Another quiestion just out of curiosity, how come on the internet it says you can have herpes type 2 and now know it? Like you can be asymptomatic and still infect other people? I know i dont have it but it kind of concerns me since i've heard you can get infected even when using condoms, and now even if your partner has no symptoms? It just seems confusing.
I was hoping you could educate me better rather than educate my self from Dr. Google .
